PAC instructor attends National Institute of Health program
Ann Brown, Biology adjunct instructor for Harlandale STEM Early College High School, was one of 30 faculty accepted from across the country to participate in the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. The intensive four-day workshop focused on recent advances in genomic science and education tools for middle school, high school, community college, and Tribal College educators. The course is designed to update educators on genome science and the ethical, legal, and social implications of genomic advances.

PAC hosts second annual TEDxPaloAltoCollege
Palo Alto College (PAC) hosted its second annual TEDxPaloAltoCollege on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the College’s Performing Arts Center. TEDxPaloAltoCollege, an independently organized TED event, featured nine TED Talks and several performances centered on the theme “DARE.” The event furthered the College’s mission to inspire, empower, and educate the community for success by showcasing Talks from a variety of disciplines with speakers from across the nation and as far as Brazil and encouraging attendees to share ideas worth spreading.
