PAC STEM peer mentoring benefits to be highlighted at national conference

Erron Gonzalez, Academic Program Coordinator for Palo Alto College's (PAC) STEM Center, has been selected to present at the 12th Annual Mentoring Conference in October 2019, hosted by The Mentoring Institute at the University of New Mexico. Erron and three STEM Center peer mentors will be presenting about the effects of a STEM Peer Mentoring Program for both the mentor and the mentee. Erron will also submit a research article on STEM peer mentoring to be peer-reviewed as part of the conference.

PAC TRIO program directors share best practices

Helena Fischer, Program Director for Palo Alto College's (PAC) TRIO Talent Search, and Dafney Bell, Project Director for PAC's TRIO Upward Bound Math-Science, have been selected to present at the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) annual conference in Chicago in September 2019. With three TRIO grant-funded programs at PAC, Helena and Dafney will share best practices for establishing a new grant programs, including building terms of partnerships, becoming a part of the fabric of the school site, and maintaining partnerships for years to come.
